YouTuber, Mohammed, who runs the channel,‘Amolz,’ had a different experience of being altruistic. On December 19, 2024, he posted a video in which he bailed a homeless man named, Kev, out of jail who was incarcerated for a month. However, the man was visibly unhappy as he angrily asked Mohammed why he bailed him out.

The video was shot in Manhattan City as the homeless man was incarcerated in the Manhattan jail. However, after he was bailed out, he asked YouTuber Mohammed to get him back in prison as he had nowhere to go. The viral video has drawn reactions from social media users.

While many criticized content creators for doing anything to get views, others pointed out that the jail was the only home for Kev. One X user commented,

“some people just don’t want to be helped.”

Social media users backlashed the YouTuber for not thinking much before bailing out Kev as others speculated that he might commit some crime to survive.

“How can you bail someone out of jail without a plan for where they'll go?” a social media user asked.
“Now who is going to buy him food to eat? nah bro is dude is going to commit another crime lmao,” a person remarked on X.
“Why would you want to stay in jail tho??” a netizen questioned.

Many X users opined that jail was the most suitable place for Kev considering the imminent winters.

“Can you blame him? Head out into the city knowing you're sleeping outside in public somewhere,” an X user remarked.
“He lost his home and now gotta go back into the streets,” an online user opined.
"With winter coming, jail was most likely his best option at the point. Again, the best option is always looking for work and getting your sh*t back but most homeless people don’t think this way," an online commentator reacted.

Let’s take a look at how the Youtuber bailed out the homeless man

The YouTuber first went to the Bail Payment Center near the Manhattan jail to get information about individuals who require bail. However, the official could not provide him with privileged information and asked him to go to court. Mohammed then went to the court where he got the required information, although he was not allowed to film anything.

After filling in the required forms and paying the bail amount, the YouTuber exited the building to get some food from McDonald’s. He got a call from the bail officer who informed him that the person had been released. He met Kev at the courthouse who was not happy to have been bailed out as he said:

“I ain’t got nowhere to go. I am homeless man. Where I am going?”

Despite the YouTuber repeatedly saying he would get him some food, Kev insisted on being sent back to jail as that was his only place to go. The bail officer informed him that the only way to get Kev back to jail was to revoke his bond, which Mohammed did not want to do. So, he ended up bailing a second person out.

The second person was, however, happy to have been bailed out. He revealed that he was put in jail for choking his girlfriend and her mother got him locked up for a day and a half until he was bailed. Upon his release, he said he felt comfortable in society as he could enjoy his freedom.
