A couple’s experience at New York’s Tatiana restaurant by Kwame Onwuachi has driven the social media trend, “Lululemon.” On February 15, 2025, the X account “GUACAWOLE” shared a post announcing that rappers Drake and PartyNextDoor covered their bill when their card declined.
The couple, whose names are unknown, went to Tatiana's in NYC on Valentine’s Day. The post by @GUACAWOLE read:
“So I’m at Tatianna’s #1 Restaurant in NYC, Nigerian chef btw. Food was amazing! It’s time to pay & waitress said card declined. I said CAP! Then a random woman came to us with this card & said it’s covered by the 6, Happy Valentine’s Day.”
The post has photos of the couple, the bill, and a greeting card from Drake and PartyNextDoor. In another post, the couple mentioned that the bill was for $600. Soon after the post went viral, netizens poured their reactions and remarks. One X user commented:
“she couldn’t put on anything else? you got fly and she wore lululemon??”
Many netizens criticized the outfit the lady wore to Tatiana and called it “inappropriate.”
“the real issue is why did she think a lululemon jacket is appropriate attire for a dinner,” a netizen remarked.
Other social media users defended her saying that there was nothing wrong with the outfit, while still others praised Drake.
“there’s nothing wrong with how she’s dressed sorry everyone doesn’t want to be dressed like they’re going to a real housewives reunion,” a social media user reacted.
“That’s a crazy twist! Love how the universe came through on Valentine’s,” an online user shared.
“OH DRAKE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT,” an internet user mentioned.
“Lululemon” trends on X following the couple’s experience at Tatiana restaurant
After the post went viral on X, a new trend emerged and gained traction called “Lululemon.” Although it is unclear what netizens were exactly referring to, it seems the trend has some connections with the brand by the same name. Here are some trending posts:
“eww not a lululemon outfit at a fancy restaurant” but would show up wearing this bullsh*t,” @RICKYVIICE posted.
“Why u in Tatiana's in lululemon and your hair not brushed. Some women just really have it their way!!” @britneychanel0x wrote.
“11k people liked that tweet about that girl wearing lululemon. People are miserable. And corny. And embarrassing. It’s actually sad,” @sydnee_reneee shared.
For context, Lululemon was founded in 1998 in Vancouver, Canada, by Chip Wilson, who aimed to design stylish and reliable athletic wear for women. The brand became known for its trendy workout clothes, covering activities like yoga, running, and training. It also popularized athleisure, clothing that works both for exercise and everyday wear.
People wear the brand's apparel both to the gym and in their daily lives. On its website, the company says its mission is to help individuals feel their best by creating products and experiences that promote well-being and meaningful connections.
