“She’s so impressively brilliant”- Billy Ray Cyrus praises Elizabeth Hurley as he breaks silence on relationship

American singer, songwriter and actor, Billy Ray Cyrus has opened up about his blossoming romance with the English actress and model, Elizabeth Hurley. The country music star, spoke about the relationship in an interview on Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show.

He described the Bedazzled actress, now 59 years old, as a great human being and shared how he feels about their bond.

"If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She’s so impressively brilliant.”

Billy Ray Cyrus also mentioned that Hurley is a very smart businesswoman and she reminds him of the likes of incredibly successful country music star and philanthropist, Dolly Parton.

Just a few days ago on Easter Sunday, April 20, Hurley shared a post on Instagram of the couple spending time together.

Billy Ray Cyrus can be seen kissing Hurley on the side of her face as they both leaned against a wooden fence, in the post. It was evident that they had celebrated Easter together on a visit to the farm.

How did Billy Ray Cyrus meet Elizabeth Hurley?

The ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ singer recalled meeting Hurley on the sets of the 2022’s Christmas in Paradise movie, he had just separated from his ex-wife Tish in April 2022. Tish and Billy are parents to the pop icon ‘Miley Ray Cyrus’.

"We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there, we just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn’t laughing a lot." shared Billy Ray Cyrus.

"The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different." added Billy.

He then explained that he had entered a difficult period in his life and wasn’t in contact with Hurley for about two years, after they completed their filming for the movie Christmas in Paradise.

"I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?’ For me, at a certain point it was like, you can’t get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you," said Billy.

It was in these tough times that Elizabeth Hurley had reached out to him. He had received a message of concern from a number he didn’t recognise. The message read

"Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner."

He then texted back, asking who the person behind the message was. Billy Ray Cyrus learned it was Elizabeth Hurley, a friend he had fond memories with because she had once made him laugh.

He then addressed fan reactions of the Easter picture uploaded on Instagram, where he was spotted kissing Hurley on the cheek.

"There will be one coming where she’s kissing me because people have been saying, ‘Why’s he always kissing her?’ Unfortunately when I see her, when she puts her cheek out there, I don’t know what happens, I just kiss it."
