Ghanaian TikTok star Afua Nash, whose real name is Clementina Nkrumah, is gearing up for an eating marathon to set a new Guinness World Record for which she would eat non-stop for four days.
Nash is famous for her entertaining food reviews and humorous content. She shared on November 5, 2024, her ambition to become the first Ghanaian to reach this milestone.
She plans to eat nonstop for 103 hours and 20 minutes, a target equating to four days, seven hours, and 20 minutes. Soon after the news went viral, internet users have been sharing their reactions. A person, taking to X, commented,
“She's gonna be bigger than Nikocado Avodcado after this one.”
Social media users raised questions saying that Afua Nash’s attempt could be dangerous.
“this sounds dangerous,” another X user wrote.
“The question is "Why”,” a netizen reacted.
“Is this even possible?” a social media user questioned.
Netizens suggested that the Guinness World Record might not be possible as Afua Nash would not be able to reach six hours. Other X users hinted at health concerns.
“Where do we send the wipes?” another online user asked.
“Guinness World Record for the fastest person to get Heart Disease,” an X account posted.
“4 days? I know she won't reach 6 hours,” another person remarked.
“What I mean when I say I'm an eater,” a netizen commented.
As per The Express Tribune, Nash, who has a strong following of over 420,000 on TikTok and 20,000 on Instagram, is leveraging her online presence to pursue goals beyond social media.
Her record-breaking attempt is scheduled for November 11, 2024 and will be streamed on Afropod Studios’ YouTube channel during the Savage Room Show.
Afua Nash is reportedly the latest influencer to attempt a Guinness World Record
Although Guinness World Records recognizes various eating-related achievements, there is currently no title holder for the longest eating marathon, presenting Afua Nash with an opportunity to establish a new record.
Reportedly, Afua Nash joins a recent wave of influencers taking on Guinness World Record challenges. Call of Duty pro Doug ‘Censor’ Martin recently tried to set the record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours, but his attempt wasn’t officially recognized by GWR, as his application didn’t meet their criteria for individual or personal achievement.
In August, streamer ‘Norme’ also gained viral attention for breaking the record for the longest time without sleep. However, his attempt led to bans on multiple live-streaming platforms due to the risks involved in such an extended period of wakefulness.
Earlier this year, Afua Nash went viral on social media for finishing a 25 cedi pack of Gari and beans (Gob3) after which expressed surprise at the crowd gathering to watch her simply because she ate Gob3.
During an interview with Kwaka Manu, she said she was from Oboho. She said she gave birth to a baby when she was fourteen years old. When she was young, she used to have problems with her parents. Eventually, she moved from her hometown Kwahu-Praso to Accra to hustle.
