Sia, the Australian singer, made a rare public appearance on Kathy Griffin's live show, who is also a comedian and her friend. She was spotted without her wig, clad in a baseball cap and a long-sleeved shirt. She emerged from the middle of the audience and delivered a rendition of her 2014 hit Chandelier and Rihanna's Diamonds.

As one of the handful of times Sia performed without hiding her face, users online did not take to it kindly. Many noted that she might have been off her game that night. "she lowkey sounds a mess no shade," one user pointed out.

Soon, virtually everyone had the same thing to say: the singer was not doing so well. While some questioned her well-being, others claimed it could have just been her "uniqueness."

"these vocals are a damn mess," one user claimed.
"For those haters... if the uniqueness of her voice doesn’t raise your serotonin levels then nothing will. Stay bitter, friends," another said.
"she said, “from the chandeh-leh-hereeeee” hahaha — no hate though at all, sounds great for singing on the spot, no one’s perfect all the time," someone stated.

More social media users chimed in as some made memes and others delivered their cutthroat comments.

"2nd hand embarrassment and I’m not even there," one user said.
"that one girl in class who thinks she has vocals," yet another joked.
"I love SIA but this isn’t it. It’s her song however so we will let her sing it the way she wants," yet another quipped.

Sia reveals she had been dieting for over ten years to fit into the "hot pop star" stereotype

Born Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, the singer stepped into the world of music alongside her band in the 1990s. From there, she worked her way up, eventually releasing her debut studio album, OnlySee, in 1997. She moved to the States in 2005 and dropped her fourth and fifth studio albums, Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born, respectively, which were certified gold by the ARIA.

Sia is most known for her collaborations with A-list music titans such as Diamonds with Rihanna, Titanium with David Guetta, Wild Ones with Flo Rida, and Pretty Hurts with Beyoncé. However, apart from her musical prowess, the singer is most known for keeping her face under wraps. In October 2023, she underwent a facelift to tackle her insecurities about her looks.

Sia went on stage at the 5th annual Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles and announced that she had gone under the knife, saying,

"I'm a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn't lie about s**t. I got an amazing face lift from Dr. Talei. He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work—and not just for the pop stars of the world."

The singer, who deals with bipolar disorder, continued, noting how she didn't want her looks to become a topic of interest online.

"I don't want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet. I've been writing pop songs for pop stars for a couple of years, and I've become friends with them and see what their life is like, and that's not something I want. I have dieted like crazy over the last 10 years. Trying to fit into the stereotype of, like, "Hot pop star." Somebody did say, 'You don't have to be a model. You're actually an artist ... It literally doesn't matter what you look like.'"

Sia has several accolades, including almost a dozen ARIA Awards, nine Grammy Award nominations, and an MTV Video Music Award.
