Ice Spice, during an appearance at the BronxWorks Girls Empowerment Day this week in the Bronx, New York, performed her song Hannah Montana as part of the performance series From the Block.

However, after videos of the performance were reposted on X by PoP Crave, fans had a lot to say. Fans were not happy with Ice's performance and mentioned that she lacked energy.

"idc for her lyricism I just think she has no energy, no personality when she raps. it’s just so monotone & that really bores me.. like cmon girl give us something— maybe a howl or a screech idk 🤷🏽‍♀️" - a user noted
"I will never understand the hype around her, she has no musical appeal. Sounds like if a random person tried doing karaoke with no effort" - another user mentioned
"Where’s the rap? she’s just talking in the same kind of beat, cero skills, cero flow" - a netizen opinionated
"How is she still getting away with doing this exact same beat and flow every time" - another user commented

Ice Spice's performance comes after she released her debut album Y2K! earlier this summer and released Y2K: I'm Just A Girl (Deluxe) album on December 24. The new album includes five new tracks, including Hannah Montana featuring NLE Choppa and DaBaby, BB Belt Remix, Popa Remix, So What, and Like.

More about Ice Spice's new album

Ice Spice's new summer album, Y2K! wasn't exactly a success despite a lineup of features. The album sold 28,000 copies and landed No. 18 on the Billboard 200 chart as per Rap-Up. However, the artist doesn't seem bothered by the numbers since it was a step up from her last album, 2023's Like...?

Ice Spice in a Twitter post mentioned,

"Like..? did 15,000 (in sales), so thank (you) to everyone who supported me then, and thank (you) to all the new supporters. (The) 'Y2! WORLD TOUR been so fun that these numbers are cool and all, but b**ch, should seen that Boston CROWD last night."

While speaking about the new album with Rolling Stone, the four-time Grammy nominee said she wanted to "branch out more and try different sounds." She also noted that she would do whatever she wanted 90 percent of the time, and for the remaining 10 percent, she would consider what the fans wanted. The singer also added that she really likes making fun records since that's what she likes to "hear most of the time."
