Designer Rick Owens' wife, Michèle Lamy, is making headlines this week with regards to a video of her discussing how much her outfit costs. In a video circulating on X, Lamy can be seen clad in some brown knee-high boots, olive green shorts, a sweater, and some blingy jewelry.
With a cigarette in her hand, she shares how much she spent on her outfit, ranging from $1000-$16,000. The clip has been going viral on X, and several have been chiming in with theories about her and Rick Owens' marriage. Here's what one user claimed:
"She looks like a horror movie villain bro."
Scores online had a lot to say:
"The way I would not touch her," one user joked.
"is this the same chick that got mad when someone said god bless you, bih seems possessed," someone else pointed out.
"Shawty look like she came straight from Hell," yet another jested.
"I just know she has met satan before," a fourth person posited.
The theories didn't end there, as many began linking her to the Church of Satan:
"Old school Christian cross and some garlic should do the trick," one user quipped.
"She wants to be the witch doctor from the Shaka Zulu movie so bad," yet another joked.
"There are no words. I think the coat hanger is still in the sweater," someone else cracked.
"Bro, when I seen that chick, I had to turn every light on in the house and it’s the middle of the day right now scary," one user shared.
The comments section of the post was riddled with jests at Lamy and Rick Owens' expense.
Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy were denied entry at a World Heritage site over concerns about their attire
Earlier this month, Lamy made headlines yet again when she fueled conspiracy theories claiming that she was a Satanist. On X, a video was circulating showing the Kick streamer BigLoaaf trying to get Lamy to say "God is Good, God is so Good." However, she declined and walked away.
Lamy's bodyguards then come up to him and ask him to back off. The internet was visibly amused, with some joking that if she'd said it, she would have "burst into flames."
As for her husband, Rick Owens, he caught the internet's eye when he visited China in October, along with his wife, Michèle Lamy. The two, along with members of Fecal Matter, were asked to leave Beijing’s Forbidden City over concerns that their clothing was inappropriate.
As reported by Dazed, in speaking about being prohibited from entering the UNESCO heritage site, two of the members, Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran, took to Instagram to share their experiences:
"This moment when we got kicked out of Forbidden City was really intense for us. They asked us to remove our make-up and change into normal clothes and then we could get in. We obviously refused because it’s more than just a look for us, it’s our identity.”
They went on:
"We understand and accept we don’t have access to the whole world. It’s the price we pay for being ourselves without compromising our values. It’s humiliating and dehumanising when security escorts you and makes you feel like a criminal when you did nothing wrong.”
In several photos circulating online, Rick Owens wore a long black coat, chunky shoes, and a baseball cap. His wife wore a black jacket with structured shoulders and a pair of black leggings, while she opted for leather-shaft footwear. Dalton and Bhaskaran were also clad in futuristic clothing and heavy makeup, all of which were Owens' creations.
