Madonna took to Instagram in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's political comeback to share her grievances. Accompanied by a photo of a yellow and orange cake with "F— Trump" strewn on top alongside a cherry border, she captioned the image:
"Stuffed my face with this cake last night."
She also uploaded a selfie, and the caption read:
"Trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, r*pist, bigot was chosen to lead our country because he’s good for the economy?”
The internet seemingly found the stories more than relatable, as many began weighing in with their opinions. Here's what one user had to say:
"She just said what everyone is thinking anyway. Queen."
On the face of it, scores online were impressed with the Queen of Pop's boldness:
"That’s the reason why she’s mother !!" one user asserted.
"madonna always on the right side of history. she ate this one thing !!" yet another echoed.
"Madonna for President," someone else reckoned.
"a queen! Eat them up!" another user cheered on.
The praises didn't end there:
"She’s always been woke, always been there, icon," someone declared.
"Oh she got him! She really got him with that cake!" another announced.
"Impeach trump. The queen has spoken," yet another asserted.
"I'm with Madonna on this one," one user stated.
Notably, a large enough section on the internet concurred with Madonna's opinions. Moreover, several of her fans dubbed her a "queen" and "mother," beckoning her to run for president.
Madonna gushes over Kamala Harris in Instagram posts
Just before the election, Madonna made clear her political inclinations when she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. She uploaded a carousel of images from her trip to Paris on October 31, and the caption read:
"Paris was so FUN! 🇫🇷 . It was hard to leave, but I had. to come home to V.O.T.E. 🇺🇸🇺🇸,” she wrote in the caption. “@kamalaharris For. President!!!! ♥️”
Notably, this wasn't an isolated incident of showering the VP with praise, as back in 2020, when she was Joe Biden's running mate, she penned yet another statement on Instagram. According to Billboard, the since-deleted post read:
"Kamilla [sic] is an intelligent, compassionate, well spoken leader who stands for justice and equal rights for all people."
Madonna joins many celebrities who have expressed discontent with the president-elect. On Wednesday morning, Christina Applegate took to X to echo the same:
"Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights. Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done. Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick."
Sabrina Carpenter also addressed her fans in Seattle on Wednesday night, noting that she was apologetic:
"Sorry about our country and to the women in here,” she said. “I love you so, so, so, so, so much, and I really hope for the rest of this night that you can enjoy yourselves because you absolutely deserve it.”
Billie Eilish, Sophia Bush, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande have all expressed their dismay over MAGA being re-elected.
