Blake Lively paid tribute in an Instagram story to late co-star Michelle Trachtenberg, who passed away on February 26 in her New York apartment. Police sources, while speaking to ABC News, noted that the cause of death is natural causes, and the actress may have suffered complications after a liver transplant months before her death at 39.
Blake Lively posted a picture of Michelle from the 2007 drama series Gossip Girl, saying,
"This is the first day I met Michelle. She was eletricity. You knew when she entered a room because the vibration changed. Everything she did, she did 200%. She laughed the fullest at someone's jokes, she faced authority head on when she felt something was wrong, she cared deeply about her work."
Lively described Michelle to be a "fiercely loyal" friend, "big and bold and distinctly herself," and a "kind person, through and through." She urged her audience to cherish their loved ones, saying,
"Hold those you love and have loved dear. The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Michelle. May her work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire."
Blake Lively starred alongside Michelle, who played the role of Georgina Sparks, a major recurring actor in the popular series that featured the lives of elite teenagers in New York City.
"Gosh. I'm busy worried about real world news" — said Michelle Trachtenberg about Blake Lively's legal drama
Days before her death on February 26, Michelle Trachtenberg had responded to a fan's comment about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal drama. When a Gossip Girl fan, 18-year-old Audrey Long, left a comment on Michelle's Instagram post about her former co-star, Lively, Trachtenberg revealed that she was more worried about "real world news."
Audrey commented on Michelle's post, which had the caption, "It takes a lot of strength to see through all the bu*ls**t. And some dark sunglasses," saying:
"Would love to see you release a statement on the Blake drama (heart emoji) Or idk if this is a direct statement."
Michelle responded to the comment by saying,
"gosh. Im busy worrying about real world news and families who have no home anymore from the LA fires. But you do you."
Following her death, several of her other Gossip Girl co-stars shared tributes. Chace Crawford, who played the role of Nate Archibald, said
"Michelle was one of a kind."
He also went on to call her a "force of nature." Ed Westwick posted a tribute to his Instagram profile, expressing his sadness and saying he was "sending prayers."
