Denzel Washington is inarguably one of the most revered actors in Hollywood. The Malcolm X actor recently won the hearts of many on the internet with his respectful gesture.

A short video of the Oscar nominee went viral, in which a woman is following him. The person is filming the seemingly busy star and is heard talking about her struggles. The lady tells Washington how difficult it is to get acting jobs these days before the Inside Man actor cuts her short and says,

“Come inside then. [And] put the phone down.”

The video ends with Denzel Washington briefly interacting with the Trinidadian woman as she starts crying.

“Why are you crying girl? I’m regular people just like you.”

Reacting the the clip, a user highlighted,

Internet lauds Denzel Washington for interacting with a woman complaining about not getting acting work

The display of humility from the American Gangster actor got him loads of praise on social media. Many noted how the Hollywood icon’s kindness might have been life-changing for the woman.

“It didn't rake anything away from him but it meant absolutely everything to her. be kind,” a user expressed their thoughts.
“I will never say a single bad thing about Denzel. Like Keanu Reeves and a couple others… he just is an amazing soul. Treats people with kindness, is incredible at his craft. Very very high IQ,” another user commended Washington.
“Mr Washington is a beautiful soul like you,” someone wrote.
“Denzel Washington is such a class act. I really admire the man,” another one showered praises on the actor.

A user observed,

“I know she didn’t expect him to do all that, Deznel so humble.”

The Gladiator II actor has a long history of helping fellow actors. In 2019, the Black Panther, the late Chadwick Boseman, shared how Denzel Washington paid for his tuition at one point. The MCU legend was on the stage giving tribute to the veteran actor for his AFI Life Achievement Award when he said,

“Many of you already know the story that Mr. Washington when asked by Phylicia Rashad to join her in assisting nine theater students from Howard University, who had been accepted to a summer acting program at the British Academy of Dramatic Acting in Oxfordhe gracefully and privately agreed to contribute. As fate would have it, I was one of the students that he paid for.”

On another occasion, Denzel Washington was credited by actor Austin Butler for his casting in Elvis. In his acceptance speech for bagging a Golden Globe in 2023, the actor said on the stage,

“I gotta thank Denzel Washington... Denzel, thank you for your kindness, thank you for your generosity and championing me when you did not have to... I am so grateful for all eternity to you.”

Baz Luhrmann, the director behind Elvis, had told Entertainment Weekly in 2022 that Washington pitched in the idea of Butler portraying the role of King of Rock and Roll. At the same time, Glenn Powell also acknowledged the Philadelphia actor in 2024 for helping in launching his career.

Powell, who acted in Washington’s The Great Debaters, told Sharp that the Déjà Vu star introduced him to his talent agent Ed Limato.
