Selena Gomez has won hearts on the internet after she was spotted cheering her Emilia Perez co-star Zoe Saldana at the Golden Globes 2025. Selena lost to Saldana for the Best Supporting Actress category but could be seen mouthing "Zoe, Zoe" while the winner of the award for announced.
Other actresses nominated for the category included Ariana Grande for Wicked, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, Margaret Qualley for The Substance, and Isabella Rossellini for The Substance.

Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana appear to have gotten closer after starring as co-stars in Emilia Perez.
In a recent interview with Collider in November 2024, the two were seen shooting praises at each other. While Saldana praised Gomez's commitment and ability to embody a character different from herself, Gomez mentioned that she feels very lucky to have worked with Saldana,
"To see this lady perform, she's very, very shy when you meet her in person, and as soon as she's walking from her chair to set, it's like, 'Selena, we're ready for you.' She puts her water down, walks in, and then starts transforming into Jessi."
Saldana added that she was surprised to see Selena transform into her character and then go back to her seat herself seconds later. Selena Gomez while opening up about what she liked the most about working on Emilia Perez mentioned,

The movie made its way to Netflix on November 13th and has received a lot of accolades since its release.
