At this year's Oscars ceremony, Shannen Doherty, a renowned Hollywood star, was left out of the 'In Memoriam' segment. While her fans expected to see her included in this segment at the 97th Academy Awards, her exclusion disappointed many.

Renowned for Charmed, the actor was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After struggling with this life-threatening condition for a few years, she died on July 13, 2024, at the age of 53.

According to a Just Jared report, Doherty's representative expressed thoughts about the Oscars snubbing her name in the 'In Memoriam' segment honoring legendary actors.

In a conversation with TMZ, the rep said:

"It was really disappointing not to see her included in the tribute Sunday night, especially since she had been a part of the Hollywood community for over 45 years."

Netizens were also disheartened to see Shannen Doherty being left out of the Oscars segment

Celebrated to pay tribute to beloved actors at the Oscars, the 2025 In Memoriam segment omitted many actors' names this time, including Alain Delon, Linda Lavin, Martin Mull, Michelle Trachtenberg, Morgan Spurlock, Olivia Hussey, Shannen Doherty, and Tony Todd.

The prestigious awards ceremony is drawing approval from fans worldwide. Excluding her name from the tribute ceremony is enduring criticism, with fans sharing their thoughts and opinions on social media.

An X user @DustinPutman shared Shannen's picture and wrote:

"No Shannen Doherty—star of one of the great films HEATHERS—in the In Memoriam is an outrageous slap in the face. She was a groundbreaker in the way she stood up for herself and voiced her own opinions during a time when women in the industry were supposed to keep quiet. #Oscars"

Her supporters are narrating their views on the internet and talking about how they wished to see the late actress in the honorary Oscar segment.

Another X user, @OfficialJLUX100, shared several pictures of the star and wrote,

"Since the Oscars failed to mention her as well: Rest in peace Shannen Doherty🕊️ Although I didn't know much of this actress or her work I'm sure many many people that loved her work are sad about your loss and close loved ones that knew you. ❤️‍🩹"
