Sony about Jonah Hill's Seth being "too vile a character", reveals Seth Rogen

In the interview with Rotten Tomatoes, when Seth Rogen was asked "What's the funniest note you've ever gotten?", he replies while giggling:

“Sony made the movie and we were told that Jonah Hill’s character, Seth, was so reprehensible to the studio, that, they were like, there’s a scene where they’re playing video games and it was like, ‘Jonah can’t touch a PlayStation.'”

The reason behind Sony's apprehension for Jonah Hill's usage of the PlayStation has been mentioned by Seth Rogen. He said that Sony felt Jonah Hill's character, Seth, to be 'too vile a character', as Rogen stated:

"They were like, 'We can’t have him interact with our products as a character, because it’s too vile a character'."

Seth Rogen said that the character of Seth had stemmed out of him, and shared how he felt about it. He also stated that in the end, they went with what the company appealed for, as he said:

"And I was like- 'It's based on me', that’s very insulting, but we accommodated them ultimately."
