Send Help is an upcoming film by Sam Raimi in the horror thriller genre. The film will star Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien in the lead roles. Backed by 20th Century Studios, the film will be financed and directed by Raimi.

Send Help will mark Raimi's return to the horror genre. The director famously started his career with low-budget horror films and eventually drifted to making superhero films like the Spiderman trilogy and Doctor Strange 2. The film touches upon the survival subgenre and we can expect to see the protagonist try to survive in harsh conditions.


Rachel McAdams to appear in Sam Raimi's Send Help

Deadline has reported that Rachel McAdams has joined the cast of Send Help, the upcoming film by Sam Raimi. Written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the film is a survival horror thriller.

Send Help follows two people, who don't get along at work, survive a deadly plane crash, and are stranded on an island. The film will showcase how they survive by not letting their past get in the way as they try to find a way out.

Besides Raimi, the film will also have Zainab Azizi under the production banner of Raimi Productions. Fans can expect more details about the film to emerge in the coming weeks.

The synopsis hints at an intriguing power dynamic that will be showcased in the story with the backdrop of horror and survival. The character played by McAdams doesn't like her boss but they will be forced to work together to make it through the island alive.

After a plane crash strands a capable female employee and her annoying boss on a remote island, she must use her survival skills to keep them both alive, despite their challenging relationship.

In recent years, Sam Raimi has pivoted from horror to superhero flicks. His last horror project was the 2009 release Drag Me to Hell. Since then, Raimi went on to direct films like Oz the Great and Powerful and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Meanwhile, McAdams was last seen in the 2023 coming-of-age drama Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Send Help will mark her second collaboration with Raimi after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Dylan O'Brien was last seen in Saturday Night, which chronicles the first production of Saturday Night, which eventually became Saturday Night Live (SNL).
