Selena Gomez has come a long way. After debuting as a child actress in Barney & Friends, she rose to fame with the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. Besides acting, she has also shown the world her singing prowess and curated a makeup products brand, Rare Beauty. While she has achieved a lot in her life, it was not an easy journey for her as she faced several health issues.
Gomez has been making headlines every now and then either for her personal life or professional achievements. However, nowadays, her fans are concerned about a certain change in her voice and speech.
The 32-year-old recently appeared on several podcasts and talk shows during which her fans noticed a change in her tone. Many are also wondering if these changes are caused due to her long-term health issues. Some also speculated if she had surgery and if the voice change was a side-effect.
For the unversed, Selena Gomez has been suffering from lupus and kidney disease for a long time, and her health struggles are likely the cause of her voice change.

Over three years ago, in an interview with ELLE, Selena talked about her health struggles. She revealed that it is not only kidney disease and lupus that have been making her life difficult.
"My lupus, my kidney transplant, chemotherapy, having a mental illness, going through very public heartbreaks — these were all things that honestly should have taken me down."
Despite the many problems in her life, what has kept her going is helping others.
The Only Murders In The Building actress opened up about her kidney transplant and lupus diagnosis in 2017. She revealed how her friend Francia Raísa donated a kidney to her when she faced several complications. According to People Magazine, Selena Gomez thanked Francia for her sacrifice.
"There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raísa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis."
However, Selena Gomez is now seemingly focusing on the positive aspects of her life. She is now engaged to Benny Blanco, and the two are giving couple goals in their several interviews. Moreover, she is also a part of the Emmy-winning show Only Murders In The Building and was recently seen in the Academy Award-winning movie Emilia Pérez.
