Offset, the Migos rapper, has come to the forefront of public scrutiny following his recent social media exchanges that referenced his late cousin, Takeoff. Earlier this week, his ex-wife and mother of his three children, rapper Cardi B took to Instagram to air out her grievances against him. The two spewed pointed insults at each other.
He fired back at his baby momma, and at one point, referenced the late Takeoff, with whom he shared a rocky relationship since 2022. He took to X to advise Cardi, insisting that she pay heed to the advice of those around her.
He tweeted:
"Listen to your ppl take and the bros TOld me !!"
However, Takeoff's younger brother YRN Lingo caught wind of his comment and jumped to confront him. He warned him against bringing his brother into the mess.
"My brother ain't tell him sh*t!! Let my twin rest."
Fans react to Offset's tweet, claims he is "just hurt"
Regardless, while the internet was divided, the masses had a lot to say. Several jumped to Offset's defense, noting that he was just hurt. Others sided with YRN, noting that there was no need to bring the departed into this. "Lingo hasn’t been relevant since 2015. Bro, saw publicity stunt and didn’t waste a min!" one user joked.
Several others chimed in as well, noting that there was no way YRN could know what Takeoff said to Offset.

"How do you know what your bro ain’t say you dry just wanna be heard," another sided with Offset.
"Rip take off he would b on offset side regardless," yet another claimed.
The comments continued, as one after the other offered differing opinions.
"Not him jumping in looking for clout he prob one of the dudes trying to get with cardi never heard of him before," another noted.
"Take would have stood with Offset, RIP," another claimed.
"Offset catching hell from everywhere," another commiserated.

In November 2022, YRN Lingo took to Instagram to pay tribute to his brother in a lengthy statement. He reflected on their journey together and expressed his grievances. He stated:
“Dear Take, I don’t know where to begin, I honestly still can’t believe it. My big brother, my right hand, my other half, my literal twin. The one I could call upon anytime no matter what time, weather, situation you were in. You always made sure the family was straight, even when I didn’t need anything you always gave me something.”
He continued, sharing how difficult it was for him to continue with life without his brother.
"I hate that I have to move on with my life without you physically here, I wish I could just stop time and wait, but I know what can’t happen. It’a a lot of things I’m going to miss about you, I could name them but it would be a full list and that would take forever. I looked up to you more than anyone on this earth and I will never stop looking up to you.”
He also pledged to carry his brother's memory with him wherever he went in life, stating:
"You thought [sic] me things and brought me places that [a] majority of the people can say they never seen or heard, level-headed, nothing ever got to you unless it had to do with family or money. You always stayed in your lane and never bothered anyone. Quiet, but very well-spoken and a real HUMBLE GIANT.”
He concluded his statement by announcing that he put his faith in God and that he knew his brother was waiting for him in heaven, next to their great-grandma. He promised to take care of their mom and signed off with "Love, Lingo." He attached a carousel of pictures of the two growing up, from babies to pre-teens to adults.
Offset and fellow Migos rapper Takeoff fell out in 2022, causing the trio to break apart. While Offset began his career as a solo artist, Takeoff and Quavo continued as a duo.
