Sabrina Carpenter enjoyed a meteoric rise in 2024. From her chart-topping hits and sultry performances to her dating life, she was truly under the microscope from legions of her newly acquired fans, waiting for any updates on the singer’s journey. This was punctuated with a resounding exclamation point when she attended her first Grammys this past Sunday.
Not only did she win with her look on the red carpet, Carpenter’s Espresso won Best Pop Solo Performance before her debut album Short N’ Sweet took home Best Pop Vocal Album later in the evening’s proceedings.
Now, it appears that she’s looking to double down on her triumphant first foray with the announcement of Short N' Sweet Deluxe.
Short N’ Sweet Deluxe: What we know so far?
Not only is Sabrina cementing her debut as an unforgettable first effort, but the biggest news about the deluxe release is that this time she will be teaming up with one of her idols. When the pop star announced on social media, she also revealed that she would be collaborating with country music icon, Dolly Parton, which set the internet abuzz. Her caption read:
“As a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammy’s :’). short n’ sweet deluxe is now available for pre order. and yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. 💋💋💋she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy s–t!!!!!”
Parton for her part will be featuring on a remix of Carpenter’s Please, Please, Please. Although Sabrina had several breakthrough hits in 2024, this was the only one to have reached the top spot on the Billboard charts. She has previously mentioned the country mogul as a major influence, with the pop artist naming Parton as one of her most streamed artists on Spotify in 2024. Sometimes nasal twang in her vocals has also drawn comparisons to some of Parton’s work and signature musical sensibilities which makes this partnership a logical extension of Carpenter’s growth.
This has led to fans clamoring for the remix while also giving them the license to imagine other possible dream collaborations in the future. The internet went wild as speculation and rumors began to abound, suggesting artists they deemed would be an ideal fit for Carpenter. Requests and theories ranged from Nicki Minaj, Glorilla, and Olivia Rodrigo, to Ariana Grande.
Aside from the news about Sabrina getting to team up with one of her idols, fans have even more to look forward to with her impending release. The Deluxe edition will also feature 4 bonus tracks that were previously unreleased. They are titled, 15 Minutes, Couldn’t Make It Any Harder, Busy Woman, and Bad Reviews respectively.
