Billie Eilish's brother, Finneas Eilish, a record producer, says the siblings may not always produce music together.

During a recent interview with Guitar.com, Finneas said he's helping her learn to produce her music independently after producing Birds of a Feather and her first three albums.

"I've been setting up Billie's recording studio for her so she can do home production without me, because she's very good at it. And it's funny, I've been giving her, like, the bare minimum of stuff, just so that she learns it all."

He noted that he's helping her set up with a much simpler set-up to start with,

"I'm very 'unsobby' about my gear. I could give you all the stuff that I use now, but it took me years to even have a use for it. If I give you this basic thing, it'll make sense to you right away."

Billie Eilish and Finneas Eilish on producing music together

Although siblings Billie Eilish and Finneas Eilish have been creating music together for a while, they have had times when they were not on the same page. During an appearance on Hot Ones in July, the siblings opened up about the challenges of working together,

"I think the longest, biggest argument was during a period of transition in maybe both of our lives where we were just trying to be kind of honest."

Finneas admitted that he was "very much high and might" about Billie Eilish being "honest or authentic" and learned a lot to not be "too egocentric" during the process.

Billy complained that Finneas was often barefoot during the recording and was in "very filthy shoes."

During an interview with Zane Lowe in May, Finneas revealed that he was considering quitting production. Billie responded with support by giving him credit for being "the thing that keeps the ship moving. " She then asked her brother what his exit from music production would mean for their collaboration and what they would do.

However, despite their differences, the siblings, who have a four-year age gap, have always supported each other professionally and personally. Their collaborative effort has won them nine Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards for the best original songs, What Was I Made For? and No Time to Die, and an Oscar for the best original song.

In 2024, the two celebrated their second Oscar win for What Was I Made For? from Barbie.
