Rugrats live-action movie with CGI babies coming to life at Paramount with Jason Moore directing: Everything we know so far

The animated TV series Rugrats is set to hit the big screen as a live-action film with Jason Moore directing the piece. The adventurous toddlers, originally brought to life by Paul Germain, Arlene Klasky, and Gabor Csupo, will appear in a CGI-generated movie for the first time.

The movie Rugrats will be a CGI-supported feature film. The story will reportedly be adapted from the original series created for Nickelodeon. Mikey Day from Saturday Night Live is the co-writer of the script alongside Streeter Seidell.

With the show premiering on August 11, 1991, in the United States, the Rugrats franchise has produced several seasons as well as multiple reboots.

In 2021, the Rugrats TV series premiered on Paramount+, and there was another sequel named All Grown Up, where we see a grown-up Rugrats gang.

Tommy Pickles, along with his buddies Chuckie Finster, Angelica Pickles, and Lillian DeVille, will again return to their little adventures as Jason Moore's Rugrats begins production with Paramount.

Beginning his Broadway career as a director and having worked for several theaters, Jason Moore was nominated for a Tony Award in 2004. He has directed a number of musicals and is also known for his participation in the classic comedy-drama movie Steel Magnolias.

Jason Moore's directorial debut, Pitch Perfect (2012), reached the audience well and led to two more sequels down the line. In 2015, he directed the comedy movie Sisters. Most recently, he was seen behind the lens for the production of an action-comedy piece, Shotgun Wedding, starring Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Lopez.

Rugrats will be the first film of the franchise where we will see Moore bringing the restless toddlers to the big screen as CGI babies. As per reports, there is no official synopsis for the movie so far, but we will definitely get to enjoy the adventures of the little kids as they have fun and hustle through their daily lives.

As the film's production sets in, the audience waits impatiently for the looks of the CGI babies to be revealed in the 2024 Rugrats feature adaptation. The plot is also not confirmed yet. However, we will supposedly see a reunion of the tiny gang as they embark on a new adventure with Jason Moore at the helm.
