It is interesting to note that the director, Mark Jenkin, who is of Cornish identity, also shares a deep association with the fishing community and the sea, since he is a progeny of the well known artist and fisherman, Alfred Wallis (1855-1942), accordinmg to tate.org.uk. In Jenkin's earlier work, Bait, too, the plot surrounded a fisherman, who resides in a village of Cornwall.

Rose Of Nevada can be expected to have a unique form of storytelling, not just in terms of time travel but also because it belongs to the themes Mark Jenkin is personally connected with.
