Rihanna is reportedly coming back to the stage after an almost decade-long hiatus from live performances, with the exception of her set at last year’s Ambani family wedding. Sources have told The Telegraph that Rihanna is rumored to be headlining the iconic 2025 Glastonbury Music Festival, followed by a six-night residency at London’s West Ham Stadium.

This is massive news from the artist and business mogul, who took a long break from touring to focus on her business ventures alongside her responsibilities as a mother of two with partner A$AP Rocky.

More on Rihanna’s rumored residency

While the news has not been made official, sources reportedly told The Telegraph that the Barbadian pop star plans a residency of up to six shows at London Stadium this summer, according to Stereogum. The performances would take place July 4 and 5, with additional dates tentatively penciled in on the 8, 9, 11, and 12. Another inside source communicated with The Telegraph that an announcement could arrive as early as next week.

This could be an epic comeback moment from one of modern pop music’s most revered artists. Rihanna’s creative longevity and evolution is something to be marvelled at, and perhaps the UK dates are a sign of what’s to come. It could also signal a new Rihanna album is in the works.

In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, RiRi spoke on her process and what we can expect for her on the horizon in terms of fresh music. She said:

“I’ve been in the studio the whole eight years, but it didn’t hit me. I was searching for it. I went through phases of what I wanted to do. ‘This kind of album, not that album.’ I know it’s not going to be anything that anybody expects. And it’s not going to be commercial or radio digestible. It’s going to be where my artistry deserves to be right now. I feel like I’ve finally cracked it, girl!”

It seems like a very positive indication that some new tunes are on the way and that Rihanna has continued to refuse to compromise her artistic vision.

Apart from this breaking news, Rihanna also currently has a big summer movie on the way. She toplines the voice cast of the animated film, Smurfs, which is scheduled to release on July 18, 2025. The family-friendly film co-stars Octavia Spencer, Kurt Russell, John Goodman, and Billie Lourd.
