Actor-singer Jessica Simpson is once again making headlines, turning heads after revealing her vocal enhancement ritual. The Dukes of Hazzard actress, who is also known for her musical flair, confessed to drinking a Chinese herbal cocktail that contains snake sperm, which she claims helps improve her singing.
During a recent conversation with TMZ, Simpson admitted that she has doubled down on drinking snake sperm. According to her, it helps in clearing her throat and enhances her vocal performance. Jessica, who recently split from Eric Johnson after a ten-year-long marriage, released Nashville Canyon Part 1 on March 21, 2025, which is her first EP in fifteen years. The EP includes songs like Leave and Use My Heart Against Me.
However, it seems like the Employee of the Month star has made it quite clear that she is not quitting drinking the Chinese herbal cocktail that contains snake semen anytime soon. The concoction was recommended to her by her vocal coach, who claimed it would help improve her voice. While speaking with TMZ regarding the unconventional herbal drink, Jessica said:
"[It] really clears my throat."
Jessica also posted a video on her official Instagram handle regarding the herbal drink. Shot in a recording studio, she can be seen in the video drinking the concoction and talking about it. She also reveals that it tastes like "a really dark honey". Check out the Instagram video below:
In the video, Jessica revealed that initially, she had no idea about the ingredients in the herbal drink. However, later, when she Googled it, she found out that it was snake sperm. The singer then quipped:
"If you want a good vocal, you’ve got to drink snake sperm."
Besides being an actor and a singer, Jessica Simpson is also a mother of three, sharing two daughters, Maxwell and Birdie, and a son, Ace, with Eric Johnson, the former NFL player, with whom, as mentioned before, she separated after ten years of marriage. She announced their separation in January 2025.
Simpson, in a statement to People, said:

"Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
However, after releasing her first EP in 15 years, it seems like Simpson is currently focusing on her music career.
