Gwyneth Paltrow is known for being one of the most outspoken actresses in showbiz. She is often seen sharing her opinions, either about her personal life or her lifestyle brand, Goop. The actress has been one of the A-listers in the lifestyle and wellness brands industry for the past 17 years.

Therefore, whenever a fellow female celebrity launches a wellness and lifestyle brand, it often ends up being compared to Goop. A new player who recently joined the industry is the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, with her brand As Ever.

Many were also wondering how the Iron Man actress would react to Markle becoming a lifestyle influencer. After a long debate among netizens and the backlash drawn by As Ever, Paltrow has spoken up in favor of Markle. Seemingly, she has nothing but support for the Suits actress.

During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Gwyneth Paltrow was questioned about her brand, Goop, being compared to As Ever. Moreover, the audience wanted to know her views on the competition from Meghan Markle. In response, Paltrow simply said she only has support for women who want to try what they want to do.

"I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try."

The 52-year-old added,

"When “there’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them."

Are Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle friends?

Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle both live in the same Montecito neighborhood in Santa Barbara County, California. Markle moved to the neighborhood in 2021 with her family after she and her husband, Prince Harry, bought a $14 million mansion.

Despite almost being neighbors, Paltrow and Markle are not well acquainted. During the interview, the Sliding Doors actress revealed she has not watched the trailer for With Love, Meghan, Markle's new show on Netflix. She also admitted to not knowing the Duchess of Sussex very well.

"I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all."

However, Paltrow added that she would like to know them.

"Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie."

Earlier this month, Meghan Markle began her new show, With Love, Meghan, in which she invites celebrities to a California estate as guests. Throughout the episode, she cooks and shares gardening and hosting tips with her guests.

While the show has seen several guests so far, critics were not happy with its concept. However, Netflix has now renewed it for another season.

In Season 1, Markle faced backlash for the episode in which she invited Mindy Kaling to help her plan a kid-friendly garden tea party. She is also making headlines for allegedly lying about her homemade waffles.

On the other hand, Gwyneth Paltrow is returning to the silver screens with her awaited sports drama Marty Supreme. She will be seen acting alongside Timothee Chalamet. The movie will mark her first full-length feature role since 2015. In the last decade, she was not frequently seen on the screen for a full-fledged role.

The movie is allegedly inspired by the life of professional table tennis player Marty Reisman. However, many details about its plot are currently under wraps.
