Snow White has been marred with some controversy or the other since its announcement. Erin Cressida Wilson is the writer, while Marc Webb is the director. The film was released on March 21, 2025, after its premiere at a castle in Spain.

It stars Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, Ansu Kabia, and Patrick Page, among others, and it's the live-action adaptation of Disney's 1937 animated flick Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

One of the controversies revolves around Gal Gadot, who has gotten into trouble due to a comment by Zegler. It began when Zegler thanked fans in a tweet after the film's trailer launch in 2024 and wrote,

"And always remember, free Palestine."

Snow White: Rachel Zegler's social media comments land Gal Gadot in hot water

Disney's musical fantasy is now synonymous with controversies. One of them involves its star, Gal Gadot, who has portrayed the Evil Queen in the film. Back on August 12, 2024, Rachel Zegler attended the film's trailer unveil at the D23 fan event. Subsequently, she thanked everyone for the views the film's trailer received. Post that, she added a line asking her fans to keep Palestine in their minds.

As per Variety, a Disney executive expressed their concern with the team of Zegler over her political tweet. Marc Platt, who is one of the producers of Snow White, reached New York to meet the actress. Reportedly, the actress didn't agree to remove her tweet. Right after that, Gal Gadot, who is from Israel, began receiving death threats, and Disney decided to increase her security. One insider told Variety about Rachel:

She didn’t understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, for anyone.”

A few months later, the actress ended up using cuss words for Donald Trump and his supporters. Zegler wrote on Instagram,

"May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace. F**k Donald Trump."

Disney then provided social media personnel to Zegler after that. Meanwhile, Gadot only extended her support to people who were taken as hostages during the Hamas attack that happened on October 7.
