Prominent actor Keanu Reeves has shared an exciting update about the sequel of the cult classic, Constantine. He shares that DC Studios have been approached for the making of Constantine 2.

In a recent interview with Inverse, Keanu Reeves has revealed that the OG Constantine director Francis Lawrence and Reeves have shared their story pitch with DC Studios. The Studios shall now work on its scripting process.

In the interview with Inverse, Francis Lawrence, along with Keanu Reeves, disclosed an exciting revelation about Constantine 2.

Keanu Reeves mentioned that he and Francis Lawrence had approached DC Studios for the sequel of Constantine.

Reeves revealed that he and Lawrence shared their story idea for Constantine 2 with DC; hence, they are now transforming the story into a script.

He has also mentioned that they have been working towards making the sequel for 10 years. Now, it is finally taking place.

Keanu Reeves has mentioned about it by saying:

“We've been trying to make this film for over a decade, and we just recently put a story together and pitched it to DC Studios and they said, ‘Okay,’”
“So, we're going to try and write a script.”

Additionally, Francis Lawrence also mentioned that the sequel shall bear no change in the world where the original Constantine was set.

Reeves gave us a hint about John Constantine's character treatment in the forthcoming venture. He mentioned,

"John Constantine's going to be tortured even more."

That prepares us for the fact that this time, John Constantine shall be back with more gritty and intense storyline. No further details about the plot have been revealed by them.

As per reports at Deadline, the announcement of the sequel of Constantine was made by Warner Bros. back in 2022.

The OG Constantine is indirectly derived from Hellblazer comics, a creation of DC and Vertigo. The film was released back in 2005.

It has been 20 years since the film was released. Ever since then, the loyal fans of Constantine have been readily waiting for a sequel to this epic movie. Actor Keanu Reeves, too, has always been eager to make a continuation of this ambitious project.

Set within themes of supernaturalism and mystery, it follows the plot of an exorcist, John Constantine, who faces consequences for a "sin" he had committed in his early days.

The plotline of Constantine, as per IMDb, goes by:

"Detective Angela approaches Constantine, a demon hunter, to help her investigate her twin sister's mysterious death. As he digs deeper, he realizes that demons are trying to enter the human world."

Along with Keanu Reeves portraying John Constantine, the film stars Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Djimon Hounsou, Peter Stormare, Gavin Rossdale, and many more.
