Peaky Blinders will soon return with a Netflix feature film, but that won't be the end of this world, says the show creator, Steven Knight.

Knight's period crime series is one of the most popular shows on Netflix to this day. Led by Oscar-winning Cillian Murphy, the show has also become a highly quotable pop culture phenomenon since its inception. Murphy's Thomas Shelby shortly made a place for himself in the crime thriller niche. So, it's no wonder his fans would want to see him return to the screens.

The upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, presumably titled The Immortal Man, will hopefully satiate their hunger. However, that won't be the end of this Netflix project, per Steven Knight. During his recent appearance on the BBC Breakfast Show, Knight teased further chapter/s in the Peaky Blinders saga.

“I’m not allowed to announce it, but I’m just saying that the world of ‘Peaky’ will continue.”

The upcoming Netflix film won't be the end of the Peaky Blinders world

Steven Knight's cherished gangster drama will soon return to Netflix in another form. The upcoming Peaky Blinders film will bring back his version of 1900s England. So, while speaking with the BBC Breakfast show, Knight revealed a few details about this project. He confirmed that it wrapped its production in December 2024. When asked about the post-production process, he revealed,

“We’re putting it together now. I would say this, wouldn’t I? But it’s fantastic. We’ve got the best, I think, the best British actors all in one place, including Stephen [Graham].”

Knight spoke more about the promising footage they shot.

“The stuff that I’m watching – the rushes, the assemblies – no one will be disappointed. It is quite an incredible thing. It’s a very fitting way to end this part of the ‘Peaky’ story.”

Knight emphasized that "this part" will end, meaning there will be more to come in the world of Thomas Shelby. He didn't mention any specific details about the direction it will take, but he has given hope to the Peaky fans that the feature film won't be the end of the Peaky world.

Before that, Peaky Blinders fans will be treated to a feature film soon to be released on Netflix. It will show Cillian Murphy reprising his role of Thomas Shelby. He will be joined by series regulars like Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham, Ned Dennehy, Ian Peck, and Packy Lee.

Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, Mission Impossible) and Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin) newly join the cast along with Jay Lycurgo (Generation Z, Titans) and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction).
