A peculiar moment with birds has exploded on social media, and it looks like something from the game world of Minecraft.

One unexpected fan moment in the year 2025 was when someone decided to take a chicken to a Minecraft movie screening, and the clip was circulating the internet. A video of the moviegoer was uploaded by Dexerto on their official X (Twitter) account, which showed the chicken calmly resting on her arm while most of the other moviegoers were appalled.

The comment topped all comments and perfectly summed up the moment's surrealness.

When Fandom Blurs the Lines with Reality… Literally

The viral video depicting the chicken-in-theater moment is the most astonishing concept you will ever witness. Unlike the usual expressions of fandom that are showcased through merchandising and costumes, this participant went the extra mile by bringing with them a representation of one of Minecraft’s most recognizable passive mobs.

The responses on the internet are already a mess:

"I believe all Minecraft fans act like this." - Wrote Ghost Boy on X.
"How many eggs were popped out during the movie tho?" - Joked Funky Beats on X.
"Typical minecraft fans behaviour." - Wrote Lulu on X.
"Minecraft fans have completely lost their mind." - Wrote Juwon on X.
"Minecraft fans catching up to Rick and Morty fans." - Wrote Hypnodron on X.
"That's hilarious! Bringing a chicken to a Minecraft event is so creative and fun. Love it!" - Wrote Austin on X.

The chicken, calm and seemingly unfazed, has already gained unofficial mascot status in the Minecraft fandom – and fans are calling for it to get a name (suggestions so far: Cluckston, Featherstein, and Sir Eggward).

The Movie Everyone’s Been Waiting For

The Minecraft movie has been coming for a long while. It is being directed by Jared Hess, recognized for Napoleon Dynamite, and stars Jason Momoa. The movie takes Mojang’s beloved sandbox video game and turns it into a live-action spectacle.

In Minecraft: The Movie, Garett (Jason Momoa), a washed-up video game champion, gets transported through a mysterious portal to the Overworld. Joined by a parser of dubious friends, they must learn to survive, craft, and battle their way to victory against the malevolent Piglin King Malgosh, who seeks dominion over both Minecraft and Earth.

Led by the master builder Steve (Jack Black), they are taught to fight and build for their survival. This movie is a mixture of adventure, pixelated chaos, comedy, and mayhem. It is filled with over-the-top moments courtesy of the famed game.

A Perfectly Blocky Moment

Regardless if this was a marketing stunt, a joke taken too far, or one fan’s fondness towards Minecraft chickens, the internet has voted the feathered visitor the star of the night. In a way, that is what Minecraft has represented since the day it was launched – freedom, creativity, and a hint of chaos.

For this particular occasion, let us be grateful that no one brought along a creeper.
