John Cena became the first-ever 17-time WWE world champion by finally pinning Cody Rhodes, which divided many fans.

The Peacemaker star, expected to retire by the end of 2025, turned heel in March at Elimination Chamber. Cena was joined by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Travis Scott when he attacked The American Nightmare. When Cena and Rhodes faced off again at the WrestleMania Sunday event, the Red One star didn’t turn up to help the former.

Instead of The Rock, the Cenation Leader was assisted by Travis Scott, another creative decision that left many disappointed. After WrestleMania 41 concluded with John Cena’s victory over Cody Rhodes, many expressed their thoughts on X, with a user (@OADsBraydonW) branding it as “one of the worst” events ever,

“Terrible. One of the Worst Wrestlemania Main Events, Ever. One of the Worst Wrestlemania's, Ever. And not in a cool 'hate it,' heal, heat way, just dumb, boring. No Rock?! No Heyman, No Seth. Over Travis Scott, Trash. 5/10. That's being generous. Very Disappointing WWE.”

Read on to learn how fans reacted after Dwayne Johnson was a no-show at the WWE’s biggest wrestling event this year.

The Fein rapper is among the most recognized musical artists, but he is not known for his wrestling moves. It could be the reason many were dissatisfied when Travis appeared at WrestleMania 41 instead of The Rock to help John Cena.

“Boring a** match // No Rock and an unnecessary celebrity appearance // Ref had to sell that soft a** tug by Travis Scott like he got hit by a car // Cody having seconds thoughts about hitting a man who left him bloody // Lame a** finish,” a user criticized WWE chief content officer Triple H.
“Anyone else find that very anticlimactic? ‼️🙇🏻‍♂️ Like what??? Why did Travis Scott have a 5 minute entrance in the middle of the match and WHERE IS THE ROCK???? 🤨 Happy for Cena, but WHAT????” another user expressed.
“Wait….that’s it? I’m only 2 years into watching wrestling again but am I the only one who expected more from that match? We get Travis Scott, which I didn’t need, but no Rock? No “Corporation” talk? No shocking moment….Especially with how slow that match started?” someone added.

A user shared a clip of a seemingly awkward reaction from the Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison to explain their feelings:

“Sending out Travis Scott instead of The Rock”

Another user posted the “unimpressed Stanley Hudson” meme from The Office and wrote:

“When Travis Scott got involved…”

The 41st edition had to follow last year’s star-studded main event match. The WrestleMania XL Night 2 main event saw Roman Reigns facing Cody Rhodes in a title match, which saw WWE superstars like Seth Rollins, The Undertaker, The Rock, John Cena, and more making cameos during the fight.

Last year's success might also be a reason for the latest edition's underwhelming response, despite Travis Scott getting hit with a Cross Rhodes by Cody.

John Cena, who attended the press conference after the event, dodged questions from the media. He also declared himself “the last real champion” and confirmed his appearance on the Monday Night Raw on April 21.
