Serbian influencer Stefan Janković found himself inside a bear's den, face to face with the beast itself in Gornja Paklenica.
In order to escape to his safety, he had to scale a tree nearby. By the time he made it up the tree, there were two bears waiting for him. He recorded his escapade, and the footage, published on September 13, 2024, has since gone viral.
The 31-year-old influencer shared two frightening clips of the incident, labeling it "On the edge of life" (Na ivici života).
While the exact details leading up to the situation remain unknown, both videos depict a seemingly worsening scenario. "You won't believe what happened to me," Stefan can be heard saying in the clips.

In the first clip, the influencer can be seen nestled in the bed of the beast's den. The camera flips and we can see the beast take a few steps in. The influencer then starts making his way out of the narrow lair, when he comes face-to-face with the animal itself. The bear can be seen sniffing his head and the phone as the influencer tries to maintain his cool, seemingly terrified.
Cut to the second clip, which starts off with him saying, "You won't believe what happened to me." With the caption "the one where you have nowhere to run...," the influencer can be seen sitting atop a tree. He then pans the camera to show what's below him: two, full-grown predators this time. As one attempts to scale the tree, the other can be seen lazying around. He said in the video,
"I spent 24 hours in the forest, and a bear attacks me. It's waiting for me, and there's another one."
According to Serbian media, the two omnivores are known as Masa and Ljubica, and they stay in Gornja Paklenica, a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are known to be friendly.
In follow-up videos on his Instagram, we can see him playing and wrestling with the two creatures. Titled "we became best friends," it looks like the whole spectacle was just a ploy to gain view. The caption stated:
"No one believed that a man could hang out with a bear."
In another video, he can be seen getting out of a tent, as the bears crowd outside. They can be seen clawing at the tent, seemingly to make their way in, but he goes out himself. He jokingly captioned the video, "They have come to my house now."
The video, pinned on the top of his feed, has garnered over 4 million likes at the time of writing.
The influencer himself seemingly travels a lot, with an Instagram account that details all his travels. He has several highlights that showcase all the places he has visited, such as Bali, Dubai, and Zanzibar.
