A showdown between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is around the corner. It will be aired live on Netflix, straight from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 15. Ahead of the bout, a compilation of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson training separately has been doing the rounds on the internet.
In the montage, Jake Paul can be seen giving it his all, albeit his training regime is ostensibly less intense than that of Mike Tyson's. The former can be seen doing high kicks, while the latter relentlessly throws punches at his trainers.
The video has since drawn several reactions, a good chunk of which seem to be well wishes for Jake. However, others are convinced that he doesn't stand a chance against the 100-kg professional boxer. Here's what one user said, for instance:
"Omg tyson is gonna kill that dude."
Several more concurred:
"Tyson is a boxer. Paul is a YouTuber who has done some training. If it is a real fight, Paul's head will fall off approximately 15 seconds after the opening bell," one user posited.
"Please let Mike Tyson hit Jake Paul so hard that Paul doesn't wake up until Bitcoin is at $250k. Amen," another prayed.
"Where’s the video of Jake Paul practicing eating through a straw….. because you know….. he’s gonna need that," someone else asserted.
"Paul's trainer– punching mitts. Tyson's trainer– whole body protection," one user pointed out.
Several more online weighed in:
"Tyson advances quickly but keeps his perfect balance and leverage to throw punches.Hard punches. Nothing I've seen of Paul shows him facing that kind of attack," one user tweeted.
"Tyson's dodge/duck/weave skills are on another planet. I've never seen a boxer, or another human being move like he does. Tyson is the GOAT," someone else declared.
"I’m looking forward to the fight this Friday. All 30 seconds of it. My condolences to the Paul family," yet another stated.
"The only reason Tyson losing this match if this was a set up," another contended.
Scores online called on Jake Paul to quit while he's ahead, lest a terrible loss befalls him.
Jake Paul promises a win, claims his career only starts now
Just this month, Tyson reflected on how he's feeling:
"That I’m tougher than I believed I was, because when I agreed to this fight and started training, I thought: ‘what the f*** am I thinking of?’ But now I’ve finished the process, the fight is the party."
Paul, on the other hand, asserted that he would come out on top. Per the Bloody Elbow, here's what he had to say ahead of the match:
“Dallas it’s going to be an amazing night on Friday, God is with me and I’m just doing my thing. God is with me, I feel really good, sharp, powerful, explosive and it’s going to be a short night for Mike."
He continued:
"It’s not about how long you’ve been doing something, it’s about how good you do it. On Friday night people are going to see me out-box the person who has been doing it their whole life because of my team, everyone that’s put in the work with me, coach Third, J’Leon Love, Larry Wade."
He went on, noting that he's an "unstoppable force," and that on Friday, his "dreams come true" and his "career starts." He claimed that "This is the start of an amazing journey, what I’ve done so far doesn’t matter, Friday night my career starts.”
This is going to be Tyson's first stint in a ring after his last bout in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match. However, he hasn't been professionally boxing since 2005. Notably, this is also the first time his children will be attending one of his bouts, alongside approximately 80,000+ people.
As for Jake Paul, the 27-year-old YouTuber is looking to improve his 10-1 record. His last victory came in the form of a TKO of Mike Perry in July.
