Bianca Censori’s outfit was reportedly influenced by the cover of West's album Vultures 1, which features a topless woman wearing an undergarment and boots with her back to the camera.

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine on February 4, 2025, Raj Kapoor mentioned that the event has an "artistic black-tie" dress code, which seems open to interpretation in the music industry.

“Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices. But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the Academy would have to answer.”

The magazine outlet also mentioned that in California, indecent exposure is defined as intentionally revealing private parts in a way that could offend or disturb others. The Grammy Awards was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where such actions could be considered a legal issue.

Moreover, according to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), obscene content is not protected under the First Amendment and is banned from cable, satellite, and broadcast TV and radio. The FCC last updated this rule on January 13, 2021.
