Hulu recently dropped a trailer for O’Dessa, a film featuring a post-apocalyptic but colorful world where Sadie Sink was seen singing and bringing light to the darkness. The film is first scheduled for a premiere in the 2025 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival (SXSW) and will later release on the streaming platform.

Other than Sadie Sink, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Murray Bartlett, Mark Boone Junior, Regina Hall, Pokey LaFarge, and Marinko Prga are in the film. Geremy Jasper has both written and directed the film, while Jay Rabinowitz and Jane Rizzo were in charge of the editing.

What does the colorful O’Dessa trailer have in store for us?

If one searches for the term 'psychedelics' on the internet, all they'll find are weird illusions and colorful images, which is basically a depiction usually shown after somebody consumes those psychedelics. The O’Dessa trailer is sort of the same, too colorful to be true.

But it is true, as Sadie Sink is now a farmland girl turned wasteland vagabond with a purpose, roaming the wasteland with her classic guitar. We see her character, O’Dessa, standing in front of a small burning house, which tells us she is leaving behind the kind of life she was living.

The character then comes across this town called the Satellite City that gives a bit of cyberpunk vibes, which is sort of strange in the middle of a wasteland. Though the trailer makes it clear that it's a sinful place. Then she sings and mesmerizes Euri Dervish, a character Kelvin Harrison Jr. is playing, who appears to be the love interest for O’Dessa.

But there's more to it; there's a villain called Plutonovich, played by The White Lotus' Murray Bartlett, who seemingly rules this world. What's interesting is that he appears to be on a power trip and tortures anyone who speaks against him, and that also serves as a means for his entertainment.

Later we see the music taking over for most of the part, but that explains it's one weapon Sadie's character will be using in the musical.

We do have a plot, which will clear some more air as to what's coming in this Hulu flick. It reads,

"A farm girl in search to recover a cherished family heirloom. She travels to a strange and dangerous city where she meets her one true love. To save his soul, she must put the power of destiny to the ultimate test."

The film will be premiered on March 8, 2025, at SXSW and will be released on March 13, 2025, on the streaming platform.
