John Travolta is set to star in November 1963, a thriller revolving around the events before President John F. Kennedy's unfortunate death.

The film titled November 1963 is penned by Nicki Celozzi, who's the nephew of mob boss Sam Giancana. Palme d'Or winner Roland Joffé is set to direct this project, which reportedly follows the two days before the assassination of the 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Its official synopsis per IMDb currently reads:

"The story of the Killing of a President as told by Joseph Giancana, who was with his brother, Sam Giancana during those days. Written by their nephew and told in real-time about the underbelly that pulled off this crime."

According to the reports, the film will cover the alleged involvement of a Chicago-based crime group in the assassination. John Travolta (Pulp Fiction) has been cast as Johnny Roselli. Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) and Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend's Wedding) will start alongside Travolta as Anthony Accardo and Chuckie Nicoletti respectively.

Per Deadline, John Travolta, Mandy Patinkin, and Dermot Mulroney are going to star in a thriller titled November 1963, which revolves around the JFK assassination. They will play different figures from an organized crime unit, which was allegedly involved in the tragic event.

Travolta will star as a key figure in the Outfit named Johnny Roselli while Patinkin will play the head of the Chicago Outfit, Anthony Accardo. Mulroney's character, Chuckie Nicoletti, is an infamous hitman and Sam Giancana's bodyguard.

Nicki Celozzi, who serves as the writer and producer, notes,

“This story brings audiences into the inner workings of the Chicago Outfit and their role in a seismic moment in history. With firsthand accounts and a legendary cast, November 1963 promises to be an unforgettable experience.”

When speaking about the project, director Roland Joffé notes,

"This is a remarkable cast for a remarkable story.’’

Roland Joffé is a two-time Oscar-nominated director for The Mission (1986) and The Killing Fields (1984). His most recent directorial feature was 2017's The Forgiven. Nicki Celozzi, who wrote the screenplay for November 1963, previously worked behind the lens. His writing credits include The Class (2022), Shattered (2017), and Wings of the Dragon (2014).

Pulp Fiction-fame John Travolta recently starred in Cash Out (2024), Mob Land (2023), and Die Hart (2023). Mandy Patinkin, popular for his roles in Homeland and The Princess Bride (1987), newly starred in Hulu's Death and Other Details. SAG nominee Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County) was a part of NBC's Chicago Fire.
