Movie Nominations for the 2025 Writers Guild Awards Announced; A Real Pain, Challengers, Dune Part 2 and Wicked make the cut

The 77th edition of Writers Guild Awards, 2025 has been announced and many recent hits have made the cut in the original and adapted screenplay categories. Films like A Real Pain, Challengers, Dune: Part 2, and Wicked had their names on the nomination list.

However, Golden Globe-winning movies namely The Brutalist, Emilia Perez, and Conclave could not meet the eligibility criteria for the 2025 WGA nominations. The original date for the announcement was set for January 9, 2025. However, it got delayed due to the unprecedented emergency caused by the recent Los Angeles fires. In the TV show category, we have names like Fallout, Hacks, Bob’s Burgers, Shogun, The Simpsons, The Bear, and English Teacher.

Nominations were revealed on January 13, 2025, Wednesday following an unforeseen delay caused by the L.A. wildfires, per THR. The list of winners will be announced next month on February 15, 2025.
