Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow set video drops plot detail

Comicbook has released new footage from the sets of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which hints at the film's plot. In the video, viewers can see that the shooting is taking place on a set that resembles a classic town in the United States. While this is quite common, it contradicts the vastness of the source material.

In the comic books, the storyline of Supergirl takes place all across the universe. So this American town setting possibly hints at the storyline being set on Earth. We might get to see Kara Zor-El's life on Earth. The makers might be planning to reimagine Kara's storyline. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow began shooting in January, and it's reportedly being shot in London, WB studios, and Iceland. The filming is expected to conclude in May 2025.

The film is adapted from the namesake comic book series that came out in 2021. It will chronicle Kara's life in Krypton as she turns 21 and befriends Ruthye Marye Knoll. The main plot revolves around her plan to seek revenge. Australian actress Milly Alcock is portraying the role of Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl; she is Superman's cousin. Alcock gained fame for her role in HBO's television series House of the Dragon Season 1. Other cast members of the film include,

  • Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll
  • Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills
  • David Krumholtz as Zor-El
  • Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze
  • Jason Momoa as Lobo

Besides these names, the film will also feature Krypto the dog. In January 2024, Alcock took to her social media to share her excitement over her casting in the film. She wrote,

"So excited to be a part of the DC fam - thank you so much to @jamesgunn for trusting me with Kara / Supergirl."
