Jack Antonoff lied to Adam Sandler to help his wife Margaret Qualley bag a role in Happy Gilmore 2.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Margaret Qualley was asked about a rumor on if she has a role in upcoming comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2, to which she responded and revealed that her husband had to lie to Adam Sandler to get her the role.
"The rumors are true. It's a tiny part. I'm essentially deep background, but I can die happy now."
When tallking about how Margaret Qualley got the role, she opened up saying,
"I saw that there ws an announcement, like, there's going to be a Happy Gilmore 2. And I emailed my agents right away. And I said, 'Anything it takes. No part is too small. Please! I got to be a part of this. I beg of you, please, whatever it takes."
After a while, Adam Sandler texted her music producer husband Antonofff, asking if his wife knows how to "golf at all?" to which Antonoff lied saying, "Yeah, she's actually good.!" Margaret added,
"What a good husband. And I can't golf. He lied for the sake of the family. Yeah. Never golfed a day in my life. I'm terrible, actually.'.
Happy Gilmore 2 is a sequel to Happy Gilmore, which stars Adam Sandler, as an hockey obsessed Happy Gilmore, who finds he has a hidden talent for Golf. Netflix confirmed the production of the long awaited sequel in May, 2024.

While speaking to Jimmy Fallon about starring in the sequel Happy Gilmore 2, Margaret Qualley revealed that Adam Sandler was her "first crush" and added that the original Happy Gilmore which was released in 1996 is her "favorite movie."
When Jimmy Fallon asked Qualley on her experience working with Sandler, Qualley said,
"He's the best. It was the best thing that's ever happened to me.'
During an appearance on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in August, Adam Sandler revealed that Happy Gilmore 2 was soon to start production in New Jersey in a few weeks.
"We worked hard on the script, man. We didn't want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. 'Do Happy Gilmore 2', and I was always like, 'Nah, I'll only let you down."
Sandler revealed that he and co-writer Tim Herlihy finally managed to write a worthy script for the movie and are really excited about it.
