Netflix releases the star studded trailer for Happy Gilmore 2

Adam Sandler is back as Happy Gilmore in a sequel that, after almost three decades, has just dropped its first trailer. This star-studded movie is all set to bring the golf legend back to life.

The trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 opens with a statue of Happy's head, accompanied by legendary golfers like Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods, as he comments on his teeth. It then transitions to showcase the stars in the film, with only a few making it into the trailer. Fans noticed Bad Bunny, Ben Stiller reprising his character Hal from the previous movie, Christopher McDonald, and Julie Bowen. Additionally, the film is set to feature stars like Margaret Qualley, Travis Kelce, and, surprisingly, Eminem.

Sandler has previously spoken about Eminem's role on Happy Gilmore 2 as he talked about it on the Don Patrick show and said,

"I've known Eminem for a long time, and he's a great guy. He came in and was funny as hell. I think we just hung out a day with Eminem and just shot and shot, and it was insane. (He) said a million things we can use."

The actor has also quipped about Travis Kelce, who will be making his first appearance in a movie.

“Travis has… he mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Happy Gilmore 2 will also feature Sandler's daughters, Sadie and Sunny. Golfers John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau will also appear to enhance the authenticity of the golf storyline.

Plot details of the film have been kept under wraps for now, which makes the sequel all the more exciting. Speaking about the movie on The Tonight Show, Adam Sandler has said,

“It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.”

The main characters in Happy Gilmore 2 include Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, Allen Covert as Otto, Dennis Dugan as Doug Thompson, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, Ben Stiller as Hal L., and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio as Happy's caddie.

Kyle Newacheck is directing the sequel, and Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler wrote the script.

Happy Gilmore 2 will be released on Netflix on July 25, 2025.
