The Four Seasons consists of some major names in the comedy and acting realm. Netflix recently unveiled and delighted the fans with the first look of the comedy miniseries. It has been written by Tina Fey, who has had a long career both as an actor and writer, alongside Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher.

The series is about several friends who come together for a vacation. The synopsis of The Four Seasons reads,

Three suburban couples vacation together each season, but tensions arise when one couple splits up and the husband brings a much younger woman on subsequent trips.

Netflix unveils first look for The Four Seasons

Recently, Netflix revealed the first look of their upcoming comedy-drama miniseries called The Four Seasons. The series is inspired by the 1981 namesake film and stars Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Erika Henningson, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Will Forte, and Marco Calvani.

The first look shows Fey, Carrell, Forte, and Domingo playing different characters and meeting each other during vacations. Apart from writing and starring in The Four Seasons, Fey is also executive producing it with Lang Fisher, Jeff Richmond, Eric Gurian, David Miner, and Tracey Wigfield.

Alan Alda, who directed and starred in the original 1981 film, is serving as the show's producer along with Marissa Bregman. In an official statement to Netflix, Fey spoke about working with her longtime collaborators Fisher and Wigfield. She said,

"Tracey, Lang, and I have talked about the show being a love letter to long-term relationships, both platonic and romantic, because your life is ideally more than just the person you’re married to."

She added,

"Sometimes when you are struggling with something with just your spouse, you need a group of friends to bring humor to it. Those friendships really help marriages, I think. Having a person who just fulfills a part of you that your spouse can’t quite [fulfill] is very important.”

Fey has been lending her voice to the character of Dr. Farrah Braun in Mulligan. She is also its executive producer. On the film front, she was last seen in Mean Girls, which was a modern take on her own 2004 cult hit. Besides acting, Fey also wrote and produced the film.

Speaking to The New York Times, Fey spoke about how her writing has evolved from writing the 2004 film to its 2024 version. She stated,

"The rookie mistake I made was, I asked to adapt a nonfiction book that did not have a story. I had these amazing behaviors and anecdotes, but I didn’t have characters or story. So, I literally read Syd Field, read “Save the Cat,” had a million index cards."

Fey went on to say,

"And then the switch to the stage, on a technical level, you’re taking a three-act thing, and you have to break it into two acts. You don’t have voice-over, you don’t have close-ups. Things have to play in the balcony. Now, with the movie musical, you can have all the things in your arsenal: You can play things with just people’s eyes."
