Legendary actor Kate Winslet shall be marking her directorial debut with her forthcoming film Goodbye, June, in collaboration with Netflix.

Kate Winslet has been loved by the audience for such a long time for her incredible body of work, having brought life to several remarkable characters.

Some of Winslet's prominent works include Sense and Sensibility (1995), Titanic (1997), Iris (2001), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Little Children (2006), The Holiday (2006), The Reader (2008), Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and the most recent The Regime (2024).

Goodbye, June: Netflix backs up Kate Winslet's directorial debut

As per reports at Screen Daily, Kate Winslet has joined hands with Working Title Films and Netflix for her directorial debut- Goodbye, Jane.

The story of Goodbye, Jane has been penned by Joe Anders, Kate Winslet's son. Joe Anders is an actor, who has previously appeared in films including 1917 (2019), Lee (2023), and Bonus Track (2023).

Goodbye, Jane, follows the story within a chaotic family set-up, who jointly face unpredictable trials and tribulations.

The official synopsis of Goodbye, Jane, as per Deadline, reads:

Goodbye June is a present day, fictional drama, set in England. A touching, yet humorous story which sees a fractured group of siblings pull together under sudden and trying circumstances.

The pre-production work shall commence shortly, as confirmed by Netflix. Not only shall Kate Winslet direct the film, but shall also produce and act in it.

Along with Working Title films, Kate Winslet shall also be teaming up with producer Kate Solomon, who had also produced Winslet's starrer Lee (2023).

Goodbye, Jane has a promising cast of actors.

Along with Kate Winslet, the film stars the noted Australian actor Toni Collette, who has worked in films and series including About a Boy (2002), Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Unbelievable (2019) and Knives Out (2019), to name a few.

Along with them, we have Johnny Flynn, Timothy Spall, Andrew Riseborough, and Helen Mirren joining the cast of Goodbye, June as well.
