It’s almost here again? In a recently shared story via Instagram, rapper Playboi Carti has confirmed that his latest album I Am Music is officially complete. This is major news as fans have been teased with the drop for over a year through pre-order links, teasers, and other insights into the project, which did not materialize into a concrete release.

With the recently shared Instagram story, it appears Carti has given a nod to his extremely loyal and vocal fanbase who have been clamouring for new music from hip-hop’s most mysterious star.

Playboi Carti’s I AM MUSIC Announcement

Carti shared the I Am Music news via social media after sharing a screenshot captured from a conversation with producer Wheezy, in which the latter confirmed he would be sampling Jay-Z’s megahit “Girls, Girls” for an upcoming collaboration between the pair.

Fans seemingly took this to be a sign that I Am Music had not been completed and was firmly still in the works, which motivated Carti to post “MY ALBUM DONE” shortly afterwards to clarify any confusion his initial Instagram story may have caused.

The rollout for I Am Music has been ongoing, with billboards for the album spotted in select locations in February. Carti also previewed a selection of tracks from the upcoming record at his Rolling Loud set in Miami in December 2024.

The first two tracks were reported to be produced by F1LTHY and Metro Boomin respectively. The final preview included a feature from The Weeknd, who previously collaborated with Carti on “Timeless”.

After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour

Apart from the upcoming album, the mercurial rapper was also announced to be a featured guest throughout The Weeknd’s 2025 After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour. The massive production put together to support The Weeknd’s newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow will kick off on May 9, and run through early September, where it’s set to wrap up in the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Carti will be featured alongside Mike Dean in what audiences can fully expect to be one of the highlight shows in the upcoming calendar year. Carti's style and raw energy in conjunction with his co-performers should effortlessly cement this as one of the can't miss performances of 2025.
