Drake is back in the headlines as the Toronto native is being discussed in direct response to a social media interaction with producer, DJ Khaled. On February 4, 2025, the Florida-based hitmaker dropped a seven-minute action movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Ramos on his social media accounts. The action-laced film was a promotional post as Khaled gears up to release his 14th studio album, Aalam of God.
In the extensive and detailed caption, Khaled named several artists who would be featured on the record, stating that the “6 God” would appear on two tracks. Drake seemed to dismiss Khaled’s claims summarily while commenting on the post.
The original caption on Khaled’s since-deleted post read:
“This not my last album this my black album JAY VOICE […] DRAKES BACK TO WORK… SO AM I! THIS THE ONE WITH DRAKE’s” he wrote. “@ayojuan matter of fact..send that record over to @badgalriri .. u know…I JUST WANNA BREATHE – THE AIR THAT RIHANNA BREATHES – yo RIH everyTING locked.”
Drake commented to Khaled's post:
“Must be @drakebell”
About Drake & Khaled Beef
The strangest part of Drizzy’s comment is that the two artists are usually in lockstep. They have collaborated on countless hits in the past including, I’m On One, No New Friends, Popstar, and I’m the One to name a few. Overall, the Toronto rapper has appeared on seven of Khaled’s previous 13 studio albums.
In a time when Drake is still reeling from his war with Kendrick Lamar, one would think that he would need all the support he could get from within the industry. What makes it even more surprising is that Khaled did not speak on the beef publicly on any platform, and stayed neutral while everyone around him in the industry was seemingly picking sides.
In an interview with PEOPLE in 2024, Khaled spoke glowingly of their rapport when asked about his working relationship with Drake:
"Our friendship is true brotherhood. We relate to each other in so many ways. We inspire each other, both of us. I tell him he inspires me. He has no problem telling me I inspire him. We brothers, and not just him. His whole family, his crew, I consider them my team. He is such a beautiful man, such a talented person, but also he is one of a kind. There's no way there's another Drake out there. It's impossible. It's just impossible. The same way there's not another Khaled out there."
Khaled spoke about the rapper as more of a brother; someone who was personally entrenched in his inner circle. That's exactly why Drizzy’s comments seem to have everyone a little confused.
