Cher took to X on October 18 to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 Presidential bid. In the video, Cher can be heard saying:

"I have followed Kamala Harris since she was my U.S. senator. She fought for me then and she is fighting for all of us now. That's why I'm proudly voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz."

She went on to add:

"I know they will fight to protect our rights and I'm so grateful to be able to make my voice count this year. I hope you will too."

After Pop Crave posted the endorsement video on X, netizens took to the comment section to share their opinions:

While many people applauded Cher for endorsing Harris, others questioned the long list of celebrity endorsements for Harris.

"It’s great to see Cher backing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz! Having influential voices like hers can really energize the base and bring attention to important issues. Excited to see where this endorsement leads!" - a user commented
"Why do all these endorsements look like hostage videos?" - another user opined
"Ah yes another rich celebrity who doesn’t have to worry about the cost of living endorsing a candidate that has spent the last 3.5 years making life more expensive 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 ur doing so good Cher ty" - a netizen commented

Cher said she will leave the country if Donald Trump is re-elected

Cher's recent video isn't the first time she has shown support for Kamala Harris. The singer had earlier mentioned that she would leave the country if Donald Trump is re-elected and opened up about her struggles under his tenure.

In an interview with The Guardian in October 2023, the singer said:

"I almost got an ulcer the last time. If he gets in, who knows? This time I will leave (the country)."

The singer's dislike for Trump comes from her concern for the future of trans people under his Presidency. It is pertinent to note that her child, Chaz Bono, identifies as trans.

In the interview with The Guardian, the singer revealed her concerns and admitted that she had no idea about Trump's plan for trans people.
