The 2025 CinemaCon took place recently at Caesars Palace, where Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman addressed the crowd and said a few things. One of the things he talked about was exhibitors whom he had asked to lower their rates.
He spoke in detail about the state of the film industry and how they have gone through the pandemic. Rothman said,
“The health of the movies are the movies in the movie theaters. Fortunately, there are more great ones coming.”

As per Deadline, Tom Rothman, who is the CEO of Sony Pictures, spoke at the 2025 CinemCon and addressed a crowd of people. He mainly spoke about the health of the box office, which has been quite underwhelming lately. Addressing the cost of a ticket and the window given to them, Tom said:
“Cost and windows can work for us or against us. Theatrical needs to be smart about them both. I will let you know that Sony will work with you on both.”
He further showcased that the future can be better if the studios and theaters do their work properly.
“If theaters and studios manage for the long terms, and do the rights things, the future will be grand.”
The Sony head honcho then said,
“The health of the movies are the movies in the movie theaters. Fortunately, there are more great ones coming.”
Prior to starting his presentation for Sony at CinemaCon, he said that you are lucky if you get to make a great film with a great filmmaker. One day, one of the events that took place at the Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, was the revelation of the upcoming Spiderman movie title. The Tom Holland starrer is called Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it will be released on July 31, 2026. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be out on June 4, 2027.
CinemaCon also saw the trailer release of Karate Kid: Legends, A Big Beautiful Journey, and the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot trailer. Besides these, a new trailer for the forthcoming horror film 28 Years Later was also unveiled at the event. Meanwhile, ComicCon also showcased a sneak peek into the horror-comedy-action film Anaconda, which is the sixth in the franchise. The video was revealed by Paul Rudd and Jack Black, its cast members.
