Monstrous canines set loose in A Breed Apart trailer; Lionsgate reveals gut-wrenching first glimpse

Grace Caroline Currey joins Hayden Panettiere and Virginia Gardner in A Breed Apart, an action horror film inspired by Wes Craven's 2006 cult classic, The Breed. The official trailer is finally out and offers a look into a "hilariously harrowing tale of terror."

The film's official synopsis reads,

"When Violet accepts an invitation to a private island with some of the world’s most famous social influencers, she expects a weekend of unrivaled viral opportunity. She soon becomes part of her own horrific reality show when the guests are pitted against each other to capture the island’s legendary man-eating dogs before they become victims of the monstrous canines."

A Breed Apart is written and directed by Griff Furst and Nathan Furst, the sibling directing duo who previously collaborated on Nightmare Shark, a 2018 TV movie. Lionsgate Studios is bringing this horrifying film to the silver screen. It will be out in theaters, on demand, and on digital on May 16, 2025.

Monstrous canines set loose in the gut-wrenching trailer for A Breed Apart 2025

The trailer for A Breed Apart is out online, and it introduces us to the terrifying bloodbath in the film.

It starts with a few moments from a Hollywood movie production that goes awry after a pack of monstrous canines starts ravaging their set on an island. The situation gets so bad that this "Hollywood horror story" becomes the setup for a game.

Fifteen years down the road, a group of social media influencers shows up on the same island for a rather ridiculous game. They gather to rescue the free-roaming dogs that once destroyed the movie set. Whoever bags the most canines will win the entire island. Silly, right? The influencers think so too, but somehow, the host convinces them to go on an absurd ride, filled with suspense and adventure.

The premise is quite similar to the Wes Craven film that follows a bunch of friends who enter an island for a peaceful retreat, only to get haunted by a genetically redesigned, blood-hungry horde of dogs.
