Mob Cops: Lionsgate Movies serves a sneak peek into David Arquette's upcoming thriller crime drama

Mob Cops is a forthcoming crime drama film from Lionsgate Movies. The Danny A. Abeckaser-directed film will be released theatrically, digitally, and on demand on April 25, 2025.

The film stars David Arquette in the lead role, along with others. Here is the official synopsis:

When a retired NYPD detective publishes a book about his family's mob connections, war breaks out between the cops working for the city's big crime boss and the officers trying to bring them to justice.

On February 26, 2025, Lionsgate Movies released the official trailer of their upcoming film Mob Cops. The two-minute and 12-second video starts with two cops stopping a guy in a vehicle to ask for his license and registration.

In just a moment, Sammy Canzano (Arquette) ends up shooting the civilian. Slowly, the trailer unravels the rivalry between the mob and the cops. We see moments of dialogue and heavy scenes between the characters that increase the intensity. The trailer ends with a montage of scenes and a gunshot.

Mob Cops revolves around several cops, and the story touches upon some of the darkest cases of corruption in the police department of New York City. It is about a former NYPD cop who pens a book about his experience in the field and his connections to the mobsters. This starts a chain of events that form the crux of the story.

The film is directed by Danny A. Abeckaser, with Kosta Kondilopoulos serving as the writer. The film is set to be released on April 25, 2025, by Lionsgate Movies. It will also be available to rent and as VOD on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. On the same day, there are other releases, including the horror film Until Dawn and the action thriller The Accountant 2, among others.
