Mission Impossible 8 is likely to be the last one in the franchise and we can expect a lot of action in there. While it's not surprising that people get stunned over action sequences in it, it was an early screening where somebody almost got a heart attack; at least that's what Christopher McQuarrie told Empire recently (via GamesRadar).
The trailer already gave us a glimpse of the high-octane action sequences that are in The Final Reckoning but the details on this particular scene McQuarrie discussed are unknown. While Tom Cruise will return as Ethan Hunt, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and more will also reprise their roles from the previous films.
Mission Impossible 8 is the most difficult thing they have done so far
Someone conveyed to the Mission Impossible 8 director that what they experienced during this early screening meant that they had attained what they had expected from the film.
"We had a small screening, and someone said, ‘I was suffocating throughout the entire sequence. I almost had a heart attack.' And I thought, ‘I guess we did something right.”
And it wasn't just that; he also believes that this film features "the most difficult thing" in the entire franchise. We have noticed throughout the years that with every new Mission Impossible film, Tom Cruise tries to turn the action game up a notch. He jumped a bike off the cliff to reach a train, making it the biggest stunt in cinema history.
Those who have seen the Mission Impossible 8 trailer, are already aware of several scenes, from Tom Cruise running in what looks like a cave to hanging on to dear life by a vibrant red plane.
Some photos obtained by The Daily Mail shed light on this particular scene involving planes. Cruise was hanging from one yellow plane that was turned upside down. The pilot was said to be wearing a greenscreen so he could be removed in postproduction.
As for now, filming locations include the Lake District in the United Kingdom, which is known for its scenic landscape, Malta, South Africa, and Norway. That said, it will be a breathtaking adventure, likely to be the best of all.
Mission Impossible 8 is scheduled to release on May 23, 2025.
