Milly Alcock is all set to wear the Supergirl cape as James Gunn shared the first-ever set photo from the film's shooting, a day before DC is expected to unveil more details on their upcoming works at CinemaCon.
The photo had Alcock reading Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, dropping a major teaser that the book is all set to be the inspiration behind the film.
Adapted by Ana Nogueira for the screen, the plot follows Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, who is accompanied by Ruthye, a young alien girl seeking vengeance after her father's death at the hands of Krem of the Yellow Hills. Kara gets her ship attacked and stolen, while her dog Krypto gets injured as well, leading to her desire to confront Krem as both girls go on the quest together.
Sharing the photo on Instagram, James Gunn wrote:
“Today we celebrate #Supergirl and all her various incarnations. Can’t wait for you to see the latest version, portrayed by the indomitable @millyalcock, in June 2026.”
Not much has been revealed about the project yet, but fans have bets on CinemaCon revealing quite a few details on the project, including her costume, a plot synopsis, and how it would link up with other DC projects. As of now, the confirmed cast includes David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle, Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze.
