Millie Bobby Brown, 21, took to Instagram on February 27, to slam critics of her new blonde hair look. Brown posted a screenshot of a British Vogue article titled, "No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks" and captioned it with a "thank you."

Brown has been subject to criticism after she attended the Los Angeles premiere of her latest Netflix film, The Electric State on February 24. The actress shed her signature brunette look and styled her hair in a sleek blonde bun with bangs, while wearing a corset bodice and a mermaid train.

Millie debuted her new hairstyle at the 2025 SAG Awards on February 23 in a custom satin Louis Vuitton dress with a cowl neck, open back and a flowing train.

Netizens compared her new look with Pamela Anderson, Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears with some joking that she's auditioning for a Spears biopic. When asked about the possibility of starring in a Spears' biopic during the The Electric State red carpet, Brown said,

"I mean she is an absolute icon. I would love nothing more than to be a part of her story. But that's her story, and I am in full support of her bringing her story to life how she wants to."

Millie Bobby Brown's latest film, The Electric State, is all set to hit Netflix on March 13. Directed by the Russo Brothers, the film is an adaptation of Simon Stalenhag's 2018 Graphic novel of the same name. The film follows a young orphaned teen, Michelle, searching for her younger brother across the American West. Michelle is accompanied by a robot named Skip (Jason Alexander) and a driver.

The two navigate retro-futuristic US landscape. Whule talking about working on the movie with Collider in an article published in November, 2022, Millie Bobby Brown said,

"The fact that they wanted me only made me want them even more. It's just been a really good collaborative effort...Their team is incredible, the directors are amazing, obviously, and I've got an amazing cast to be alongside."

The actress mentioned that she has worked with two sets of brothers; the Russo Brothers for The Electric State and the Duffer Brothers for Stranger Things. The actress added that both pairs are "actually quite similar" with one saying yes to everything and the other a bit stricter.
