Michael Jordan's son, Marcus Jordan, reportedly demanded that Mariah Carey's songs play in the background as he was being taken into custody for DUI and cocaine possession on Tuesday.
TMZ first broke the news on February 5, revealing that Jordan was transported to a DUI testing facility in Orange County, Fla., not long after he was taken into custody. According to the Daily Mail, he was arrested after his Lamborghini was caught in a Maitland trail track.
According to the court documents obtained by the outlet, Marcus Jordan was reportedly upset over the lack of music at the facility, allegedly saying at one point:
"Can't you play some holiday music or some s***?" before adding, "Play some Mariah Carey up in this b***h." He also referred to the process as a "f***in' joke" ... and stated, "Gonna line those f***in' highways and get them quotas n***a."
Marcus Jordan says he's "Michael Jordan's son," vows he's "not doing anything wrong"
TMZ has reported that Marcus Jordan, a 34-year-old former athlete, acted like a "jerk" with the cops the entire time. According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office documents obtained by the outlet, the late NBA legend's second-born child refused to get his breath analyzed and "aggressively and repeatedly" backed off from officers.
Documents also state that Jordan was "loud, profane and belligerent" and displayed "a sarcastic, patronizing attitude toward" authorities. Furthermore, he allegedly fidgeted "constantly," talked incessantly, and became "agitated and confrontational when given commands or asked questions."
Perez Hilton has reported that in bodycam footage, Marcus Jordan can be seen standing next to an unknown woman as he tells officers:
“We thought we were making a right and I f**king turned onto the train tracks apparently."
When the officer began to pat him down, he asserted:
“I’m Marcus Jordan, I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong.” He added, “I’m just trying to get home and I made a wrong turn and clearly we would just like to get our car off the f**king train tracks.”
However, the officer pushed back, noting that he had:
"concerns for your level of impairment … I can smell alcohol coming from you and you’re on train tracks … that’s why I had to get you out of the car. Because if you’re spinning tires, I hear slurred speech from you, you’re driving on train tracks.”
However, Marcus asserted that he was “fine behind the wheel,” and “would like to get [his] car out of this." According to TMZ, Jordan could also be seen trying to free himself of the officer in the video, and at one point, he can be heard singing along to the officers' radio as they drove him to a nearby jail.
The outlet reports that Marcus Jordan has been booked on three separate charges: "DUI crash with property damage, possession of cocaine, and resisting an officer without violence." He was let go on Tuesday morning.
