Michael B. Jordan reveals that he is open to working with his Creed III co-star, Jonathan Majors. This comes nearly two years after Majors co-starred with Jordan in Creed III, which received largely positive reviews. Majors' performance was also praised as "a nuanced heel turn," per the Rotten Tomatoes critic consensus. Shortly before, Majors also received praise for his "incredibly committed performance" in Magazine Dreams. However, his career came to a standstill after he was accused of assault and harassment charges.
Majors was convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend and sentenced to a year of domestic violence counseling. Per GQ, Michael B. Jordan refrained from speaking about this topic until their recent interview. Now, the Sinners star remembers that it was a "tough situation" to see Majors' case unfold. When asked about whether he would work with Majors again, Jordan said,
"Yes, yes"
While looking back at their past, Jordan briefly spoke about Majors' present-day situation.
“But he [Jonathan Majors] is doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy,”
Michael B. Jordan speaks about his Creed III co-star Jonathan Majors
Michael B. Jordan will soon return to the cinemas with a dual role in Ryan Coogler's Sinners. So, he recently spoke with GQ about this film along with his present-day career. While sharing his hopes for the future, he also looked back at the past, including his Creed III co-star, Jonathan Majors.
When asked whether he would like to work with Majors again, Jordan said, "Yes, yes," revealing his openness to a potential collaboration. In the past, Jordan's directorial debut brought Jonathan Majors to the screens as the antagonist, Damian Anderson. The film was a critical and commercial success, scoring high in the Rotten Tomatoes and Box Office scores.
However, shortly after its release, Majors' career was put to a halt after he was accused of assault and misdemeanor charges against his ex-girlfriend. Later, he was also convicted of assaulting her. So, the studios behind Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Magazine Dreams cut ties with him. Now, the latter film is receiving a theatrical release on March 21 from Briarcliff Entertainment, which also backed Oscar-nominated The Apprentice.
Michael B. Jordan will return to the screens with Sinners on April 18, 2025. It marks his fourth collaboration with Coogler, who have previously worked together on the two Black Panther movies, Fruitvale Station (2013), and Creed (2015).
